Ralph Merle Toyne, 93, was called to his heavenly home on Monday, December 18, 2017. He passed peacefully from Northcare Hospice surrounded by his wife and family. All services will be Friday, December 22 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 919 NE 96th Street, Kansas City, MO 64155. The rosary will be prayed at 9:00am and Visitation will follow from 9:30 - 11:00am. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00am with lunch immediately following. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery.

Ralph Merle Toyne, 93, was called to his heavenly home on Monday, December 18, 2017. He passed peacefully from Northcare Hospice surrounded by his wife and family. Ralph was born on July 2, 1924, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Ralph Waldo Toyne and Ruth Kuhn Toyne. He graduated from Westport High School. He served on the front line in Germany during World War II, receiving a purple heart for his courage, integrity, and commitment, and received an honorable discharge from the US Army.

On August 28, 1954, he married the love of his life, Betty J. Toyne and they created a loving and lasting legacy to pass on to their children, Carolyn, Pamela, and Richard. He worked for Trans World Airlines for 31 years and was long standing member of St. Charles Catholic Church and Holy Family Catholic Church.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Gene Toyne, and lifelong friend, John Saxton. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Betty, daughters, Carolyn Novak (Albert) and Pamela Heil (John), son, Richard Toyne (Julie), grandchildren Christina Hadley (Christopher), Thomas Novak, Elizabeth Edison, Matthew Novak, Andrea Sprenger (James), Christopher Novak (Dimitra), Nicholas Toyne, Benjamin Toyne, Skyler Toyne, Ian Toyne, extended family, John Edison and Jacqueline Barnard, and great-grandchildren, Aiden Edison, Caleb Edison, Tyler Barnard, Wyatt Barnard, Micah Edison, Marlowe Sprenger, Piper Sprenger, and Miles Novak.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Holy Family's capital campaign fund.
