Mary Etta Hamadi, 77, Independence, MO, passed away Oct. 4, 2016, after a courageous battle with breast and thyroid cancer. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Monday, Oct. 10 at St Gabriel Catholic Church, 4737 Cleveland Ave., Kansas City. Visitation will take place from 2:00 - 4:00 PM on Tuesday, Oct. 11 at McGilley Antioch Chapel, 3325 NE Vivion Road, Kansas City. Inurnment will be Friday Oct. 14 at the Blue Springs Cemetery.

Mary was born July 11, 1939 in Mount Washington, MO to Charles and Ruby Pearl Nesbit. After high school, she attended college in Kirksville, where she met and married Ramez "Ray" Hamadi. The two enjoyed 48 years of marriage together until his passing in 2006.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband, her parents and a brother, Robert Nesbit. Survivors include her daughter, Sherry Angelo; sons Charles, Steven and Ramsey Hamadi; brothers William and Gerald Nesbit; sister Lois Dodds; fourteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Mary has lived with her children since 2006. We are blessed to have had time with Mary, to hear her numerous stories about her childhood, her kids and her husband, Ray. Mary enjoyed watching the Royals, old westerns and comedies together with family and spent many hours doing so. She also enjoyed spending time with her sister, Lois, sister-in-law Huda, and cousin Mary; going to restaurants and to the movies was one of her favorite ways to "party." Spending Easter with her family (kids, extended family, grandkids, siblings) were days that she truly cherished. We're comforted in knowing that she is no longer in pain and that she is in heaven with her one true love, Ray. God Bless You, Mary Hamadi! We love you!
